Hallie Thomas
Hallie Thomas fell in love with dance at the age of six in Coshocton, OH where she started her dance training at Miss Jennifer’s Dance Studio. She spent twelve years at her studio as a student learning ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, musical theater, contemporary, lyrical and hip hop. The last seven of those years she was a member of her studio’s award winning Competition Team. With whom she performed before many Cleveland Cavilier’s games and twice at Disney World in Florida. Hallie has also danced in the “Nutcracker” for two seasons and a ballet rendition of “Dracula” with a studio in Zanesville, OH. During the summers she would participate in the Community Theater children’s production where she starred in “Stuart Little”, “Annie”, “School House Rock”, “Honk”, “Grease” Before she graduated, Hallie taught ballet, tap, and jazz to beginner students for two years, and there sparked her love for teaching.
Hallie later attended The Ohio State University where she continued her dance education with multiple instructors and master teachers. She is also an American trained ballroom dancer with Arthur Murray Columbus where she taught private lessons and group classes for a year. Her ballroom training continued the following year with Svelana Iskhakov with a focus on international style. Hallie performed a salsa and cha cha duet in the 2014 Equine Affaire Fantasia finale for two sold out nights of 4,000+ people. In the last eight years, she has been teaching dance full time at FSD, including both children’s recreational, competition classes and adult ballroom lessons. She enjoys watching her students grow as dancers and artists, and is always trying to find new ways to better their knowledge as well as her own. She loves sharing her passion for dance with all of her students and looks forward to a long future with Fusion Studio of Dance.
Kellie Crawford
Kellie Crawford has been in love with dance since the age of three, when she started taking dance classes. She was a competitive dancer throughout her dance experience, having the opportunity to dance on many stages like the Ohio Theatre and Palace Theatre. Kellie is an FSD alumni, joining the studio during her sophomore year of high school. Throughout her time at FSD, she took a variety of her own classes and was a student assistant for many dance classes. Assisting in multiple ballet and tap classes helped her find her passion for teaching young children.
Kellie is a proud third grade teacher at Gorsuch West Elementary School in Lancaster, Ohio. She is very excited to continue to teach at FSD and help dancers find their own passion and grow. She loves working with young children and uses her experiences she has gained in the classroom to guide her teaching in the studio. Having fun while learning is very important to Kellie and she plans on making her classes exciting while teaching correct technique to form a solid foundation for her students to build on. Kellie is looking forward to this dance year and all of the fun experiences she and her students will have together!
Abby Young
Abby Young is a skilled jazz and tap dancer who loves to share her passion with others. This passion grew from a wonderful dance teacher, Marilyn Brust. After following Ms. Marilyn around to multiple studios, they found a home at the ML Academy of Dance. Abby participated in many years of studio training and was on their competition dance team. Abby has attended many dance conventions in her time, but by far her favorite was the Kids Artistic Revue NYC All Star Dance Experience. There, she participated in classes led by the dance captain of the musical “Wicked”, with the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, and at the Broadway Dance Center.
Abby recently graduated from Capital University with a Bachelors in Communication and a minor in music. She is currently an intern at the Capital University Admission Office and will be starting law school at Capital in the fall. While juggling her very busy life, she has had the opportunity to choreograph multiple musicals within the past year such as; “White Christmas” (Bloom-Carroll High School), “High School Musical Jr.” (Canal Winchester Middle School), and “Newsies” (Victoria Players Community Theater). She looks forward to another great session with FSD!
Karah Nungesser
Karah Nungesser is no stranger to the FSD dance family. Karah danced with FSD for eight years before graduating highschool in 2017. Karah danced competitively with the FSD competition team all of her eight years with FSD. Karah won multiple top placements, first overalls, judges choice awards and invitations to Australia and New York for additional training for her exemplary work with her competition solos. Karah received Miss PrimeTime for her outstanding work with her contemporary solo in 2017 at PrimeTime National Competition. Karah was awarded with being named a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts, where she was recognized for her outstanding artistic merit, leadership and academic achievement.
Karah recently filled in as a jazz, contemporary and acrobatics instructor last season at FSD for Miss Amie while she was on maternity leave, as well as assisting for Miss Angie’s pointe class. Karah loved working with her students last season as she was able to share her passion and love for dance with them. She looks forward to sharing her ballet and pointe expertise with her students over the summer session in her favorite environment – FSD.
Amie McQuirt
Amie McQuirt began her dance training at Judy Dollenmayer Studio of Dance. During her 14 years of dancing with JDSD she trained in ballet, tap, contemporary, hip hop and jazz. At JDSD, she was on the competition team for 7 years along with being a student teacher her senior year. Amie graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School where she was a part of the dance team competitively for two years. She preformed for all school pep rallys and at football/basketball games.
After high school, Amie continued assisting classes at JDSD for three more years. After assisting she taught at two different studios specializing in jazz, hip hop, contemporary and creative movement classes. She has also furthered her dance education by taking master classes from legendary Stacie Tookey along with the amazing Phil Wright. Amie also works at “Opening Night Dance Wear” in both Gahanna and Dublin, Ohio for many years. While working for “Opening Night” as a shift leader over the past seven years, she has gained knowledge on how to fit all dance shoes including pointe shoes. Amie has made relationships with studios, dancers and vendors from all over Ohio. Along with being able to fit kids in their first pair of shoes, the most rewarding experience about her job is when a child finally masters the skills in class that they have been working on for a while. She loves making an impact in the lives of her students and being a part of the Fusion Studio of Dance family.
